MONTECARLOTIMES MEDIA-PARTNER OF THE FIRST BIO FESTIVAL

by Ilio Masprone-Publisher-Knight of the Principality for Cultural Merits MONACO. This Bio Festival’s First Edition will always remain the prerogative of the Principality of Monaco, a tiny state capable of great things. The Bio Festival is the unprecedented initiative of the Chef in charge of the five restaurants of Monte Carlo Beach Hôtel, the Italian Paolo Sari. In the wake of an ever present awareness of the “slow food” movement created wenty years ago by the Piedmontese Carlin Petrini, and exalted by the stratospheric success of Expo Milan 2015, the Bio Festival is definitely a great idea, just as we wished for Montecarlo a few months ago. Monaco is a global showcase to launch initiatives everywhere thanks to his incredible organizational skills, bureaucracy, and the availability of institutions and sponsors. The Principality did not miss the opportunity, taking advantage of the experience of Sari, the only certified organic Michelin Guide starred chef in the world. The latest instalment of the Route du Goût will take place on 12 to 16 October 2016. Founded by Paolo Sari, chef at the Monte-Carlo Beach and founding member of the association Bio Chef Global Spirit, the Organic Festival aims at raising widespread awareness about preserving the environment and the natural wealth of our region. An organic market on Quai Antoine 1er, a tennis competition for youngsters at the Monte-Carlo Country Club, an invention competition and a culinary regatta along the legendary Riva are just some of the events that will delight young and old alike for 5 days. A world first in the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, and with the enthusiastic participation to the project of the Monaco Government, the Ministry of  Education, the Mayor of Monaco, The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Tourist Office, the Hotel School of Monaco, the Country Club and the Société des Bains de Mer. Although this initiative arose from ecological awareness, its main objective is humanitarian. The funds raised during the evening and culinary events are intended for a charity project supported by Bio Chef Global Spirit. In partnership with the OSO Foundation, the association is working to fund and build an organic Hotel school in Madagascar. In addition, through the Moses.Bio® and Orto® projects (organic vegetable garden) the association will provide the technical and financial support to develop ecological practices and organic agriculture in the region. For the first time, young people of this region will enjoy a higher education program in the hotel business management, especially with the enrollment of boys to the two-year rate at the Hotel High School in  Monaco. From 12 to 16 October, Monaco will also host intergenerational meetings and conferences with experts and professionals from organic farming and renewable energy. The first lecture will be held by the guru of Italian cuisine, Gualtiero Marchesi, who along with colleagues works on healthy diets, but not only. Among the participants, there is the nearby Liguria Region, provider of many of the organic products chosen with care and passion by the volcanic chef Paolo Sari. www.MonteCarloTimes.com has the pleasure and the honor to be media-partner of the First Bio Festival of Monaco. We are looking forward to lasting throughout the year the discussion about organic food, ecology, health, the future of youth and of course the sport as a vehicle of peace.
