Our editions are proud to have published and disseminated articles over the years (see links at the end of this post) regarding the continuous and assiduous charity work of the Royal House of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, in particular by His Royal Highness the Prince and Grand Master Charles of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, Duke of Castro, of his bride His Royal Highness Princess Camilla of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, Duchess of Castro (born Crociani), and of T.R.H. This is the text of the message from Prince Charles of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies:

Fundraising – COVID Emergency – 19 – HOSPITALS “Every single euro donated will be a glimmer of hope and a small drop of life!”

I have decided to commit personally to supporting Italy during this difficult moment and to helping hospitals and those working on the front lines in this health emergency. Several fundraisers have already been launched to support Italy’s most affected hospitals, but I am concerned about establishments and locales where the spread of this epidemic and a lack of intensive care equipment might have even more dramatic consequences. Therefore, through the Constantinian Order Charity Onlus, I launched a fundraising initiative whose donations will be distributed equally among those hospitals with fewer resources which need to increase their equipment and intensive care capacity. We do not want to stop at set goals. Let’s try to raise as much as we can. The first 50.000 euros have already been allocated. Each euro that you will donate will represent a glimmer of hope and a small drop of life that helps us to overcome this adversity!

Solidarity is an immense force. Let us join together to help each other!

I sincerely thank you for your generosity and for the dissemination and sharing of this collection.”

The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of San Giorgio, of which HRH Prince Charles is Grand Master, is a knighthood religious order, most recently linked to the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. Its origins are traditionally traced back to Emperor Constantine, who constituted it after the victory against Maxentius in the battle of Ponte Milvio, success obtained thanks to the divine favor manifested with the appearance of the cross in the sky accompanied by the writing “In hoc signo vinces” . It is therefore considered by many scholars to be the oldest knighthood order of Christianity, as well as the oldest ever. The Order proposes the glorification of the cross, the propagation of the Catholic faith, and the defense of the Roman apostolic Church, to which it is closely linked.

In fact, a necessary condition for becoming members of the Order is to profess the Roman apostolic Catholic religion. The Order also intends to make its major contribution of action and activity to the two great eminently social works of hospital care and charity.

The Order led by S.A.R. Prince Charles of Bourbon of the Two Sicilies, enjoys the consultative status of the United Nations Economic and Social Council in New York, Geneva and Vienna.

With regard to Law 178/51, the Order is recognized by the Italian State as a “legitimately non-national dynastic order” and its use on the Italian territory is authorized on request by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The most English distinguished member of the Constantinian Order is Richard I, byname Richard the Lionheart or Lionhearted, French Richard Coeur de Lion, (born September 8, 1157, Oxford, England — died April 6, 1199, Châlus, duchy of Aquitaine), duke of Aquitaine (from 1168) and of Poitiers (from 1172) and king of England, duke of Normandy, and count of Anjou (1189–99). His knightly manner and his prowess in the Third Crusade (1189–92) made him a popular king in his own time as well as the hero of countless romantic legends.
