MONACO. Thanks to the vaccination plan, the coronavirus nightmare is about to end so that for now only two events are not reopening in Monaco due to lack of visibility and public following international restrictions. While we obviously continue to monitor the current COVID 19 pandemics let’s start with the postponed events and fill the Save the date bucket list of what can be visited in Monte-Carlo. As on July 6 I am so lucky and honoured to be invited to The Gala dinner of the Monaco Streaming Film Festival I will write a full report of the event on these pages and in Italian and French on the issue n. 63 of our magazine Montecarlotimes-Les Nouvelles as well!
POSTPONED – The 5th edition of artmonte-carlo initially scheduled from 29 April to 2 May 2021 is postponed later in 2021. Founded in 2016 under the High Patronage of HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and after the success of artgenève, the Monaco art exhibition has created a leading artistic platform for modern and contemporary art on the French Riviera. Every year artmonte-carlo presents a prestigious selection of international galleries, such as White Cube, kamel mennour, Victoria Miro and Tornabuoni Art, enriched by institutional exhibitions and a professional forum, all designed to evolve, and to become a key element of the exhibition of art. TOP MARQUES MONACO FURTHER POSTPONED – The 2021 edition of Top Marques Monaco, initially scheduled from 1 to 5 September 2021 at the Grimaldi Forum, has been postponed from 8 to 12 June 2022. “Obviously, it was a difficult decision to make, but today there are no conditions for the event to take place in all serenity. The lack of visibility and the international restrictions still in place forced us to reluctantly postpone the 17th edition of Top Marques Monaco to next year, ”said Salim Zeghdar, CEO of Top Marques. “This new date will allow us to welcome our exhibitors and visitors, many of them from abroad, in the best conditions. from May 4 to June 1 – ENVIRONMENTAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARD – AN URBAN EXHIBITION, IN THE PRINCIPALITY OF MONACO – The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation launched on its 15th anniversary an international photography competition, in partnership with Barclays Private Bank and Monaco Digital, under the theme: Man – wild fauna: crossed destinies, shared territories. “We are very happy to in-manage this competition, with high quality partners and a jury of recognized and passionate professionals, around a strong theme, in the current context of the health crisis to hush up. We hope that this campaign will participate in the strong efforts to develop more harmonious relationships with nature” explains Olivier Wenden, vice-president and managing director of the Foundation. The categories contest lines: Beauty of the wild fauna, Wild fauna in crisis, A ray of hope. The Foundation’s Environmental Photography Prize will be awarded with an endowment of 6,000 euros and the rest of each category will respectively receive 1,000 euros. The three public prizes will each be endowed with 500 euros.

From Paris and from the Alps, Chef Yannick Alléno is heading south, where he will give his cuisine a sweet Monegasque accent, for the great pleasure of both residents and gourmets everywhere. The terrace of the former Vistamar has been completely renovated to offer a new, ideal place, a favorable setting for relaxation, a new vital hub in the heart of the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo. Like a balcony overlooking the sea, the terrace has been redesigned and transformed into a Mediterranean garden, where jasmine, citrus and olive trees are called upon to create a sweet atmosphere, an interlude of serenity. Pavillon Ledoyen became the most starred independent establishment in the world in 2020, with 3 stars for Alléno Paris, 2 stars for L’Abysse, sushi ‘comptoir’ opened in 2018 and finally Pavyllon, a gastronomic ‘comptoir’ opened at the end 2019, which represents a tribute to the kitchen of the comptoir. June 18-22, 2021 – GRIMALDI FORUM – 60THMONTE-CARLO TELEVISION FESTIVAL – The meeting point for television fans! By creating the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo in 1961, Prince Rainier III of Monaco, wished to “encourage a new art form, in the service of peace and understanding between men”. Monaco’s international status ideally suited the Prince’s ambition: to recognize television as an exceptional means of bringing cultures together and enhancing their respective knowledge. The project generated worldwide interest and, over the years, many distinguished celebrities have sat on the juries, bringing international recognition to the best of television programming. However, The Monte-Carlo Television Festival is above all, since the 1980s, a very important opportunity for business, a huge international market.

The first of its kind, “Monaco Streaming Film Festival” will take its first steps on the red carpet and will be broadcast worldwide, with founding vice president of Netflix, Mitch Lowe as co-founder of the festival. Leaders and the sector’ VIP will meet in the exciting Principality of Monaco, the venue of the festival to participate in 4 days of pure magic, VIP receptions, an awards ceremony, bargaining and a conference with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak as keynote speaker.
