Monte-Carlo, January 20, 2026 – The prestigious gala night of the 48th International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, held in conjunction with the 13th edition of New Generation, took place on Tuesday evening under the iconic Chapiteau of Fontvieille, reaffirming the Principality’s role as the world capital of circus arts.
The event was attended by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, alongside members of the Princely Family including Louis and Marie Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb, whose presence underscored the deep-rooted bond between the Grimaldi family and the Festival founded by Prince Rainier III.
Following a week of outstanding performances, the most coveted awards in the circus world were presented directly by the Princely Family to artists who distinguished themselves for technical mastery, artistic originality and emotional impact.
Clown d’Or Winners
The jury, chaired by H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, awarded the prestigious Clown d’Or, the highest honour of the Festival, to:
- Flying Fuentes Gasca, whose breathtaking flying trapeze act captivated audiences with precision, daring and flawless synchronisation.
- Angelina Richter, acclaimed for her powerful and elegant equestrian performance, combining classical tradition with contemporary artistry.
A historic moment marked this year’s edition with the Troupe Acrobatique de Suining, who achieved an unprecedented double recognition. The Chinese acrobatic troupe was awarded both a Clown d’Or in the main competition and the Golden Junior in the New Generation category — a first in the history of the Festival.
New Generation: The Future of Circus Arts
The New Generation programme once again confirmed its essential role in highlighting emerging talents from around the world. Dedicated to young artists, the section showcased innovation, creativity and the future evolution of circus disciplines, with the Suining troupe standing out as a symbol of excellence across generations.

The gala evening combined grandeur, emotion and artistic excellence, blending the heritage of classical circus with modern interpretation. Long standing ovations accompanied many of the acts, reflecting the international audience’s enthusiasm and the Festival’s enduring prestige.

Monte-Carlo celebra l’eccellenza alla serata di gala del 48° Festival Internazionale del Circo e della 13ª New Generation
Monte-Carlo, 20 gennaio 2026 – Si è svolta martedì sera, sotto il celebre Chapiteau di Fontvieille, la serata di gala del 48° Festival Internazionale del Cirque de Monte-Carlo, insieme alla 13ª edizione della New Generation, appuntamento che conferma il Principato come punto di riferimento mondiale per le arti circensi.
All’evento hanno preso parte S.A.S. il Principe Alberto II di Monaco e S.A.S. la Principessa Stéphanie, accompagnati dai membri della Famiglia Principesca Louis e Marie Ducruet e Camille Gottlieb, a testimonianza del profondo legame che unisce i Grimaldi a questa storica manifestazione voluta dal Principe Ranieri III.
Al termine di una settimana di esibizioni di altissimo livello, gli artisti più meritevoli hanno ricevuto i riconoscimenti più ambiti del panorama circense direttamente dalle mani della Famiglia Principesca.
I Vincitori del Clown d’Oro
La giuria internazionale, presieduta da S.A.S. la Principessa Stéphanie, ha assegnato il Clown d’Oro, massimo riconoscimento del Festival, a:
- Flying Fuentes Gasca, protagonisti di un numero di trapezio volante di straordinaria spettacolarità, caratterizzato da precisione tecnica e grande impatto scenico.
- Angelina Richter, che ha conquistato pubblico e giuria con un’elegante e potente esibizione equestre, capace di fondere tradizione e sensibilità contemporanea.
Momento storico per il Festival con la Troupe Acrobatica di Suining, che ha ottenuto un risultato senza precedenti: il conferimento di un Clown d’Oro nella competizione principale e, contemporaneamente, del Golden Junior nella sezione New Generation, segnando una prima assoluta nella storia della manifestazione.
New Generation: il futuro del circo
La sezione New Generation ha nuovamente messo in luce i giovani talenti del circo internazionale, confermandosi come laboratorio creativo e trampolino di lancio per le nuove generazioni. L’exploit della troupe di Suining rappresenta simbolicamente il passaggio di testimone tra tradizione e futuro.
