Scuderia Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc delivered a poised and determined performance at the 2025 Mexico City Grand Prix, claiming a well-earned second place behind Lando Norris and ahead of Max Verstappen. The Monegasque driver’s result marks his 50th career podium and a vital boost for Ferrari’s late-season momentum.
Starting from second on the grid, Leclerc challenged Norris into Turn 1 before settling into a consistent rhythm in P2. As the race unfolded, tyre wear became a major factor, with Verstappen mounting a fierce comeback on fresher tyres. However, Leclerc’s composure and race management proved decisive.
A Virtual Safety Car in the closing laps froze the field and ultimately secured Leclerc’s position. “I was quite happy about the VSC at the end,” he admitted with a grin. “My tyres were completely gone and Max was coming fast on softer tyres, so it was tough.”
Leclerc described the result as “a great surprise” after a weekend in which Ferrari expected to struggle with tyre degradation. “I didn’t know what to expect for this weekend. To be on the podium again, in front of such an incredible crowd, feels amazing,” he said.
The second place also lifts Ferrari to P2 in the Constructors’ Championship, edging out Mercedes in a tight battle for silver honours. For the team, it was a strong statement of consistency and strategic clarity.
Despite a chaotic start — with four cars side by side into Turn 1 — Leclerc maintained control and avoided contact. “There was no space; I did my best,” he later reflected with characteristic calm.
With four rounds remaining in the 2025 season, Ferrari has already shifted much of its development focus toward 2026. Yet Leclerc’s result in Mexico demonstrates that the Monegasque driver and his team continue to extract the maximum from their current package — and remain formidable contenders when opportunity arises.
As the Formula 1 circus heads next to São Paulo, Leclerc’s podium in Mexico stands as proof that perseverance and precision still pay dividends. For Monte Carlo Times, this was a weekend that reaffirmed both his class and Ferrari’s fighting spirit.

Il risultato segna il 50° podio in carriera del pilota monegasco e rilancia le ambizioni della Ferrari in questa fase conclusiva del campionato.
Scattato dalla seconda posizione, Leclerc ha provato subito ad attaccare Norris in curva 1, prima di assestarsi in un ritmo costante che gli ha permesso di gestire la gara con intelligenza. Sul tracciato dell’Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, le gomme sono state il vero ago della bilancia, e nel finale Verstappen ha tentato la rimonta grazie a pneumatici più freschi. Ma la freddezza e la gestione di Leclerc hanno fatto la differenza.
Una Virtual Safety Car nelle battute finali ha congelato la situazione e, di fatto, assicurato a Leclerc la seconda posizione. «Sono stato abbastanza contento del VSC alla fine», ha ammesso sorridendo. «Le mie gomme erano completamente finite e Max stava tornando molto forte con le soft, quindi è stato davvero difficile».
«Non sapevo bene cosa aspettarmi da questo weekend», ha aggiunto. «Essere di nuovo sul podio, davanti a un pubblico così straordinario, è una sensazione incredibile».
Grazie a questo risultato, la Ferrari sale al secondo posto nella classifica costruttori, superando la Mercedes in una sfida sempre più serrata. Un segnale importante per il team di Maranello, che ha dimostrato strategia, costanza e capacità di reazione.
Il via caotico, con quattro monoposto affiancate alla prima curva, avrebbe potuto compromettere la gara; invece Leclerc ha mantenuto sangue freddo e lucidità. «Non c’era spazio, ho fatto del mio meglio», ha raccontato nel dopo gara.
A quattro gare dal termine della stagione, con lo sviluppo ormai orientato al 2026, il risultato del Messico dimostra la continuità di rendimento del monegasco e la solidità del lavoro Ferrari.
