Between the roar of engines and the timeless charm of the Principality’s streets, yesterday brought the long-awaited confirmation: the Monaco Grand Prix has signed a new agreement with Formula 1, securing its place on the calendar until the 2035 season. A piece of news that, like fireworks reflected in the harbor behind the pitlane, bursts with enthusiasm and pride.
A Tradition Renewed
Back in November 2024, an important agreement had already been reached: the Monaco race, originally secured until 2025, would continue through to 2031. And now, less than a year later, the Automobile Club de Monaco and Formula One Group have sealed a new chapter with an additional four seasons, extending the contract through 2035.

A long history of engines, light, and glamour. Expressing his satisfaction was Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO of Formula 1:

Alongside him, Prince Albert II highlighted the profound meaning of this extension:
“The renewal through 2035 is in line with a sporting and historical tradition to which the Principality remains deeply attached. I can only welcome with joy this renewed commitment, a symbol of our collective success, the excellence of our collaboration with Formula 1, and the unique place Monaco holds in the international motorsport landscape.”
Michel Boeri, President of the Automobile Club de Monaco, added:
“This agreement further strengthens our determination to deliver an exceptional race weekend, unique and renowned worldwide.”
The Allure of an Immortal Circuit
Since joining the world championship calendar, the Monaco Grand Prix has secured a place in the hearts of fans and great champions alike. A story that began in 1929 and became legendary in modern motorsport from 1950 onwards. Here, Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen have all raced… as well as Louis Chiron, and more recently, Charles Leclerc, the first Monegasque winner in 2024.
The Reasons Behind the Renewal
Behind the signature lies a strategy: ensuring stability in the F1 calendar, optimizing logistics, and embracing sustainability. Starting in 2026, the Monaco Grand Prix will no longer be held at the end of May but on the first full weekend of June—a choice designed to avoid clashes with the Indianapolis 500 and to improve efficiency and visibility. Moreover, the Principality has committed to making the event increasingly green, in line with Formula 1’s Net Zero 2030 strategy.

Monaco is not just a circuit: it is a treasure chest of emotions. Quays overflowing with yachts, bends suspended over the water, barriers brushed by a hair’s breadth, victories etched in history. Una tradizione rinnovata
Già nel novembre del 2024 si era raggiunto un accordo importante: la gara monegasca, in programma fino al 2025, avrebbe proseguito il suo percorso fino al 2031. “Questo accordo rafforza ancor più la nostra determinazione a offrire un fine settimana di gara eccezionale, unico e rinomato a livello mondiale.”
Il fascino di una pista immortale
Da quando è entrato nel calendario mondiale, il Gran Premio di Monaco si è guadagnato un posto nel cuore degli appassionati e dei grandi campioni. Una storia iniziata nel 1929, diventata leggendaria anche tra le ruote dell’automobilismo moderno fin dal 1950. Qui si sono cimentati Ayrton Senna, Niki Lauda, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen… e introdotto alla gloria anche Louis Chiron e, più recentemente, Charles Leclerc, primo monegasco vincitore nel 2024.
Le ragioni del rinnovo
Dietro la firma c’è una strategia: garantire stabilità al calendario F1, ottimizzare la logistica e abbracciare la sostenibilità. A partire dal 2026, il Gran Premio di Monaco non si correrà più a fine maggio, ma al primo weekend pieno di giugno: una scelta pensata per evitare sovrapposizioni con l’Indianapolis 500 e migliorare efficienza e visibilità. Inoltre, il Principato si è impegnato a rendere l’evento sempre più green, coerentemente con la strategia Net Zero 2030 della Formula 1.
