Over the past few weeks, all we have been discussing was what would be coming out from the 2026 haute couture week.
You may expect us to refer here to garments. In reality, the central element this time was the high-jewelry collections—no longer perceived as “accessories” to complement a tenue, but as independent pieces of art to be worn with authenticity.
As the city had been sweltering in 35-degree heat, the gemstones were not intimidated by the sun’s brightness; on the contrary, they shone brighter, “like a diamond,” to make a contextual reference to Rihanna’s famous song.
Without further ado, I would like to explore together three of the collections that spoke the most to me.
Boucheron
In this chaotic world, during these troubled times that we are living today, Boucheron made more than a high-jewelry collection for haute couture week; it made a bold affirmation with its new Carte Blanche: do not be afraid to look closer into someone’s soul, because in the end, we are all the same—meaning unique in our own, unapologetic way of being.
As Boucheron stated, they want to celebrate the simple action of being rather than seeming.
Exactly as with human beings, the collection embodies through a single necklace archetype five different levels of intimate expression.
Across the collection, more than 14,000 hours of work using various techniques, including glyptic engraving, innovative stone-setting techniques, and micro-miniature painting, were required.
After crafting hollow droplets out of rock crystal and pouring successive layers of plant-based resin, 4,800 diamonds were painstakingly placed inside by the hands of the artisans for a three-dimensional effect.
This masterpiece is a tribute to craftsmanship, technology, and the majestic nature of humans, placing them not beside, but as a living part of mother nature.
Damiani
Have you ever wondered if a masterpiece could be reborn within its spectacularity?
It is certain that for this question, Damiani did not take “no” as an answer. Moreover, they managed to display a tangible answer.
In its ARTE MAESTRA, the famous jewelry maison explored the most distinctive elements of eight great art masters: Caravaggio, Sandro Botticelli, Katsushika Hokusai, Jeong Seon, Wassily Kandinsky, Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet, and Vincent van Gogh.
From Klimt’s The Kiss to Van Gogh’s Sunflowers, the collection was boldly and exquisitely executed.
However, the central masterpiece was Hokusai’s The Great Wave off Kanagawa.
According to Damiani, the Impetuosa necklace was sculpted in gold and decorated with the brilliance of diamonds, Paraiba tourmalines, and light blue sapphires to recreate the movement of water alongside a 3-carat trilliant-cut diamond.
The reaction should be simple to guess: WOW.
Once again, we get the chance to witness a praise to nature.
If we take a closer look at the angle in which the wave crashes against the rocks—here against one of the hardest stones on earth, the diamond—it reveals a bird shape which, despite nature’s tension at its peak, creates a state of equilibrium.
In other words, no matter how hectic our lives may seem, equilibrium is always part of who we are.
Messika
“It is a special event whenever a blue diamond is discovered—let alone one that will result in a 20-carat polished stone with a color as saturated as this one.” — Tom Moses, Executive Vice President Emeritus, GIA (Gemological Institute of America).
Valérie Messika had the chance to give life to the artistic vision of Botswana’s national treasure: the largest blue diamond ever unearthed in the country, weighing 20.46 carats (cut from a 41.11-carat rough stone) with a VVS1 clarity revealed through its cut.
The Artistic Director declared that the design was imagined as a tribute to the majestic vision of the blue diamond, enhancing its features and its deep blue-grey shades.
This necklace represents the centrepiece of a collection inspired by the flora, fauna and terrain of the Okavango Delta.
More than masterpiece, it could be seen as a cultural and political affirmation of Botswana’s commitment to a more sustainable and ethical gemstone mining industry.
According to Forbes, natural diamonds make up 80% of Botswana’s exports and Botswanamark™ is seen within the jewelry industry as a mark of transparency, ethics and responsibility.
Lipalesa Makepe, Okavango Diamond Company’s Chief Financial Officer declares: “We are conscious of how important ethically sourced, natural diamonds are to the public, and [so, we] are, therefore, fortunate that our diamonds are sourced in the rough by an industry [that] puts the people of Botswana first. Buyers out there can trust the provenance, and the fact that diamonds are doing good for the people of Botswana.”

Senza ulteriori indugi, vorrei esplorare insieme tre delle collezioni che mi hanno colpito maggiormente.
Boucheron
In questo mondo caotico, durante questi tempi difficili che stiamo vivendo oggi, Boucheron ha realizzato qualcosa di più di una collezione di alta gioielleria per la settimana dell’alta moda; ha fatto un’affermazione audace con la sua nuova Carte Blanche: non abbiate paura di guardare più da vicino nell’anima di qualcuno, perché alla fine siamo tutti uguali, vale a dire unici nel nostro modo di essere, senza chiedere scusa.
Come ha dichiarato Boucheron, vogliono celebrare il semplice atto dell’essere piuttosto che dell’apparire.
Esattamente come accade con gli esseri umani, la collezione incarna, attraverso un unico archetipo di collana, cinque diversi livelli di espressione intima.
Nell’intera collezione sono state necessarie più di 14.000 ore di lavoro, utilizzando diverse tecniche, tra cui l’incisione glittica, tecniche innovative di incastonatura delle pietre e la pittura in micro-miniatura.
Dopo aver realizzato gocce cave in cristallo di rocca e aver versato successivi strati di resina di origine vegetale, 4.800 diamanti sono stati meticolosamente inseriti all’interno dalle mani degli artigiani per creare un effetto tridimensionale.
Questo capolavoro è un tributo all’artigianalità, alla tecnologia e alla maestosa natura degli esseri umani, collocandoli non accanto, ma come parte vivente di madre natura.

Ti sei mai chiesto se un capolavoro possa rinascere all’interno della propria spettacolarità?
È certo che, per questa domanda, Damiani non ha accettato un “no” come risposta. Inoltre, è riuscita a mostrare una risposta tangibile.
Nella sua ARTE MAESTRA, la celebre maison di gioielleria ha esplorato gli elementi più distintivi di otto grandi maestri dell’arte: Caravaggio, Sandro Botticelli, Katsushika Hokusai, Jeong Seon, Wassily Kandinsky, Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet e Vincent van Gogh.
Dal Bacio di Klimt ai Girasoli di Van Gogh, la collezione è stata realizzata con audacia e squisita eleganza.
Tuttavia, il capolavoro centrale è stato La grande onda di Kanagawa di Hokusai.
Secondo Damiani, la collana Impetuosa è stata scolpita in oro e decorata con la brillantezza di diamanti, tormaline Paraiba e zaffiri azzurro chiaro per ricreare il movimento dell’acqua, insieme a un diamante taglio trilliant da 3 carati.

Ancora una volta, abbiamo l’opportunità di assistere a un elogio della natura.
Se osserviamo più da vicino l’angolazione con cui l’onda si infrange contro le rocce — qui contro una delle pietre più dure sulla Terra, il diamante — rivela la forma di un uccello che, nonostante la tensione della natura al suo apice, crea uno stato di equilibrio.
