NICE – Ten years after the devastating terrorist attack of July 14, 2016, Their Serene Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco attended the official memorial ceremony held on Tuesday in Place Masséna, under the presidency of French President Emmanuel Macron.
The ceremony brought together victims’ families, associations, elected officials, representatives of French institutions, former Presidents of the Republic, former Prime Ministers and government ministers. The Princely Couple was welcomed by Nice Mayor Éric Ciotti before joining the commemorations.
Held in an atmosphere of solemn reflection and remembrance, the ceremony paid tribute to the 86 victims of the attack that struck the Promenade des Anglais during France’s Bastille Day celebrations in 2016, leaving a lasting mark on Nice, France, and the international community.
By attending the memorial, Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene reaffirmed the Principality of Monaco’s unwavering solidarity with France and expressed their continued support for the victims, their families, and all those affected by the tragedy.
A decade on, the memory of the attack remains deeply rooted in the collective consciousness. The commemorative ceremony served as a powerful reminder of resilience, unity, and the shared commitment of France and Monaco to the values of peace, solidarity, and remembrance.

NIZZA – A dieci anni dal tragico attentato del 14 luglio 2016, le Loro Altezze Serenissime il Principe Alberto II e la Principessa Charlène di Monaco hanno preso parte, martedì, alla cerimonia commemorativa organizzata in Place Masséna e presieduta dal Presidente della Repubblica francese, Emmanuel Macron.
La commemorazione ha riunito le famiglie delle vittime, le associazioni, le autorità civili e militari, numerosi rappresentanti delle istituzioni francesi, oltre ad ex Presidenti della Repubblica, ex Primi Ministri e ministri. Ad accogliere gli ospiti è stato il sindaco di Nizza, Éric Ciotti.
In un clima di profonda commozione e raccoglimento, il Principe Alberto II e la Principessa Charlène hanno reso omaggio alle 86 vittime dell’attentato che, la sera della Festa Nazionale francese del 2016, colpì la Promenade des Anglais, segnando profondamente la città di Nizza, la Francia e l’intera comunità internazionale.
Con la loro presenza, i Sovrani monegaschi hanno rinnovato la vicinanza del Principato di Monaco alla Francia e ribadito il sostegno alle famiglie delle vittime e a tutti coloro che continuano a portare le ferite di quella tragedia.
Dieci anni dopo, il ricordo dell’attentato resta vivo nella memoria collettiva, mentre la cerimonia di Place Masséna ha rappresentato un momento di unità, memoria e solidarietà, nel segno della difesa dei valori di pace e convivenza che accomunano Francia e Principato di Monaco.
