Un evento che ha celebrato 150 anni dalla sua nascita.

SAN MARINO. L’evento internazionale “Regina Maria, Regina di tutti i romeni”, organizzato dall’Associazione Culturale Dacia senza Frontiere con il sostegno del Dipartimento per i Romeni all’Estero, si è svolto con successo sabato 13 settembre scorso presso il Palazzo Kursaal di San Marino. L’evento riuniva una conferenza accademica, una mostra foto-documentaria, la presentazione di un libro di memorie e un concerto lirico tutto dedicato alla celebrazione della Regina Maria. L’iniziativa ha avuto un’importanza unica, rappresentando non solo la manifestazione in Italia, ma anche “il più grande evento consacrato realizzato fuori dai confini della Romania”, come hanno sottolineato gli organizzatori.
“A livello personale, considero questo momento un omaggio reso alla Regina, ma anche un’occasione di profonda vicinanza e condivisione con la comunità romena” – ha dichiarato Mihaela Anghel, organizzatrice e presidente dell’Associazione Dacia Senza Frontiere. Tra i partecipanti si è distinta la presenza di ospiti, in gran parte romeni, provenienti da associazioni delle regioni Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Lazio, Piemonte, Lombardia e Sicilia. La giornata si era aperta con l’inaugurazione della mostra dedicata alla Regina Maria, accolta con entusiasmo dai romeni di San Marino e d’Italia. Il Palazzo Kursaal ha offerto la cornice ideale per una selezione di fotografie rappresentative, messe a disposizione dal Museo Nazionale di Bran, che hanno contribuito a delineare il contesto storico della sovrana. Parallelamente gli ospiti hanno potuto visitare la mostra di sculture in legno dell’artista Anna Formaniuc della Repubblica di Moldova.
La seconda parte della giornata è stata dedicata alla conferenza sugli aspetti molteplici dell’emblematica figura della Regina Maria. Presentato anche il volume di memorie “La storia della mia vita”, della Prof.ssa Violeta Popescu, ricercatrice, che ha fondato la Casa Editrice Rediviva e del Centro Culturale Italo-Romeno di Milano che ha proposto l’analisi dettagliata e coinvolgente della vita della sovrana sottolineandone l’impatto fondamentale, ma non ancora riconosciuto dalla storia recente della Romania. La giornata dedicata si è conclusa in modo magistrale con un concerto lirico: il programma alternava arie interpretate dalle soprano Mihaela Anghel ed Elina Velica, accompagnate al pianoforte da Liana Mareș dell’Opera Nazionale di Bucarest, con frammenti del diario della Regina, recitati dall’attrice Monica Davidescu del Teatro Nazionale Caragiale di Bucarest.
L’adattamento drammaturgico era firmato dalla scrittrice e traduttrice Carmen Bobocescu. L’evento ha confermato l’importanza delle iniziative culturali che valorizzano le personalità storiche romene in un contesto europeo. Gli organizzatori dell’Associazione Mihaela, Liviu Anghel e Biancamaria Toccagni (Vicepresidente) ringraziano tutti i partner istituzionali, gli artisti, i volontari e il pubblico per la presenza e il coinvolgimento. La manifestazione è stata resa possibile grazie alla collaborazione tra società civili e istituzioni culturali, dimostrando che la regalità storica può essere valorizzata attraverso progetti moderni ed emozionanti, capaci di unire in rete anche le associazioni di romeni all’estero.

SAN MARINO. The international event “Queen Maria, Queen of All Romanians”, organized by the Cultural Association Dacia senza Frontiere with the support of the Department for Romanians Abroad, was successfully held on Saturday, September 13, at the Kursaal Palace in San Marino.
The event combined an academic conference, a photo-documentary exhibition, the presentation of a memoir, and a lyrical concert, all dedicated to the celebration of Queen Maria. The initiative carried unique significance, representing not only a major event in Italy but also, as the organizers underlined, “the greatest consecrated event ever held outside Romania.”
“On a personal level, I consider this moment a tribute to the Queen, but also an occasion of profound closeness and sharing with the Romanian community,” declared Mihaela Anghel, organizer and president of the Dacia senza FrontiereAssociation.
Among the participants, many of whom were Romanians, were representatives from associations in the regions of Emilia-Romagna, Liguria, Lazio, Piedmont, Lombardy, and Sicily. The day began with the inauguration of the exhibition dedicated to Queen Maria, warmly received by the Romanians of San Marino and Italy.
The Kursaal Palace provided the ideal setting for a selection of representative photographs, loaned by the National Museum of Bran, which contributed to outlining the historical context of the sovereign. At the same time, guests were able to visit an exhibition of wooden sculptures by the Moldovan artist Anna Formaniuc.
The second part of the day was devoted to a conference exploring the many facets of the emblematic figure of Queen Maria. The memoir “The Story of My Life” by Prof. Violeta Popescu—researcher, founder of the publishing house Rediviva and of the Italo-Romanian Cultural Center of Milan—was also presented, offering a detailed and engaging analysis of the Queen’s life and highlighting her fundamental yet still underappreciated role in Romania’s recent history.
The day dedicated to Queen Maria concluded magnificently with a lyrical concert: the program alternated arias performed by sopranos Mihaela Anghel and Elina Velica, accompanied on piano by Liana Mareș of the National Opera of Bucharest, with excerpts from the Queen’s diary, recited by actress Monica Davidescu of the Caragiale National Theatre of Bucharest.
The dramaturgical adaptation was signed by writer and translator Carmen Bobocescu. The event reaffirmed the importance of cultural initiatives that promote Romanian historical figures within a European context.
Organizers Mihaela and Liviu Anghel, together with Biancamaria Toccagni (Vice President), expressed their gratitude to all institutional partners, artists, volunteers, and the audience for their participation and involvement.
The event was made possible thanks to the collaboration between civil society and cultural institutions, demonstrating that historical royalty can be enhanced through modern and inspiring projects, capable of connecting Romanian associations abroad in a meaningful network.
