Monaco awoke this morning with the strong feeling of unity left by another successful edition of the Fight AIDS Cup, once again confirming its place as a key charitable and sporting event in the Principality. At Stade Louis II, football became a powerful vehicle for solidarity, bringing together the public, sporting legends and prominent figures around a cause that truly matters.
Held as part of the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival, the sixth edition of the Fight AIDS Cup saw the Barbagiuans of Monaco face the Cirque FC in a festive yet competitive atmosphere. Far more than a gala match, the event remains firmly committed to supporting Fight AIDS Monaco, the association founded and chaired by H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie, which has been fighting HIV for over twenty years.
Led by their president and captain Louis Ducruet, the Barbagiuans once again fielded an exceptional line-up. Football legends such as Eden Hazard, Clarence Seedorf, Christian Karembeu, Bafétimbi Gomis and Youri Djorkaeff took part, alongside loyal regulars Robert Pirès and Ludovic Giuly. Also present was Charles Leclerc, whose attendance underlined the strong support shown by leading figures of the Principality for this long-standing charitable initiative.
This edition further highlighted the evolution of the Barbagiuans, now welcoming major international names beyond their historic Monegasque roots, strengthening the sense of a growing football family united by shared values.
On the other side, Cirque FC embraced a strong Italian influence, reinforcing the bond between the Circus Festival and its transalpine audience. The captain’s armband was worn by Andriy Shevchenko, Ballon d’Or winner in 2004, making his first appearance at the Fight AIDS Cup. His involvement added further weight to the event’s message of commitment and solidarity.
Beyond the final score, the true victory of the Fight AIDS Cup lies in its tangible impact. Through its various editions and initiatives, the Barbagiuans have now exceeded the symbolic milestone of one million euros donated to Fight AIDS Monaco, becoming the association’s leading donor. A powerful reminder that football, when driven by purpose, can create lasting and meaningful change.

Fight AIDS Cup: il Principato unito tra calcio, solidarietà e grandi protagonisti
Il Principato di Monaco si è svegliato questa mattina nel segno della solidarietà, dopo una nuova edizione della Fight AIDS Cup che ha confermato il valore sportivo e umano di uno degli appuntamenti più attesi del calendario caritativo monegasco. Lo Stade Louis II ha fatto da cornice a una giornata intensa, capace di riunire pubblico, leggende dello sport e personalità di primo piano attorno a una causa fondamentale.
Inserita, come da tradizione, nel programma del Festival Internazionale del Circo di Monte-Carlo, la sesta edizione dell’evento ha visto affrontarsi i Barbagiuans di Monaco e il Cirque FC in un clima festoso ma altamente competitivo. Un match simbolico, fedele allo spirito dell’iniziativa, a beneficio di Fight AIDS Monaco, associazione fondata e presieduta da S.A.S. la Principessa Stéphanie, impegnata da oltre vent’anni nella lotta contro l’HIV.
Guidati da Louis Ducruet, presidente e capitano, i Barbagiuans hanno potuto contare su un cast di grande prestigio. In campo e a bordo campo, il pubblico ha applaudito nomi come Eden Hazard, Clarence Seedorf, Christian Karembeu, Bafétimbi Gomis, Youri Djorkaeff, oltre ai fedelissimi Robert Pirès e Ludovic Giuly. Presente anche Charles Leclerc, che ha voluto testimoniare il proprio sostegno a un evento diventato un simbolo di impegno e condivisione nel Principato.
Questa edizione ha confermato l’evoluzione dei Barbagiuans, ormai aperti anche a grandi leggende internazionali non legate al passato monegasco, rafforzando così una “famiglia” che continua a crescere e a trasmettere i suoi valori attraverso il calcio.
Sul fronte del Cirque FC, la forte connotazione italiana ha rafforzato il legame con il pubblico, mentre la fascia di capitano è stata affidata ad Andriy Shevchenko, Pallone d’Oro 2004, alla sua prima partecipazione alla Fight AIDS Cup. La sua presenza ha dato ulteriore spessore a un messaggio di solidarietà che supera i confini sportivi.
Al di là del risultato, la Fight AIDS Cup resta soprattutto una storia di impegno concreto. Con le diverse edizioni e le iniziative realizzate, i Barbagiuans hanno superato il traguardo simbolico di un milione di euro devoluti a Fight AIDS Monaco, confermandosi primo donatore dell’associazione. Un successo che dimostra come il calcio, quando è al servizio di una causa, possa davvero fare la differenza.
