Les Petits Poissons, the first exhibition of the season organized by the Monaco Sea Academy, is now open to the public.
What better way to welcome the summer of 2026 than with an exhibition entirely dedicated to the beauty of the ocean depths? Even better when it is created by renowned Italian artist Marco Quarantini, a master of marine representation who offers visitors a truly immersive and sensory experience through his extraordinary use of texture, light, and materiality.
It is impossible not to be captivated by the richness and complexity of Quarantini’s works. Through his innovative use of glass, the artist recreates the transparency, depth, and shimmering beauty of ocean waves, as well as the fascinating world of the creatures that inhabit them.
Light is not merely an accessory in Quarantini’s art—it is a fundamental component. Reflected in a unique and personal way for each observer, it transforms perspective and perception, creating an individual journey that is both emotional and engaging.
Each fish and marine creature depicted in his works appears alive, as though captured in the full vitality of the sea’s constant movement. His art invites viewers not only to immerse themselves in beauty but also to reflect on the fragility of marine ecosystems.
This leads to a deeper message and a broader commitment embodied by the Monaco Sea Academy, which fully embraces the values expressed through the exhibition: the importance of protecting the oceans and preserving marine biodiversity. The exclusive venue hosting the exhibition is itself a strong ambassador of this sense of responsibility. The Méridien Beach Plaza, the only hotel in Monaco with a private beach located within the nearby protected marine area of Larvotto, actively supports environmental initiatives. Through its partnership with Monaco’s Nature Protection Association and its dedicated cultural program, the hotel demonstrates how access to culture and knowledge is an integral part of the unique hospitality experience it offers its guests.
The exhibition, inaugurated with a vernissage on June 15, will remain on display until July 15.

Cosa c’è di meglio di una mostra interamente dedicata alla bellezza della profondità degli oceani per inaugurare l’estate 2026? E ancora meglio se firmata dal maestro della rappresentazione dei mari Marco Quarantini che riesce a regalarci un’esperienza completamente immersiva e sensoriale grazie all’impiego straordinario di giochi di matericità e luce.
Impossibile non rimanere incantati di fronte alla sfaccettatura delle opere dell’artista italiano che con la sua innovativa tecnica di utilizzo del vetro riesce a riproporre la trasparenza, la profondità e l’emozione del luccichio delle onde del mare e la bellezza dei suoi abitanti.
La luce è una componente fondamentale delle opere di Quarantini e non un accessorio: si riflette in maniera unica ed esclusiva all’occhio di ciascun osservatore, ne cambia la prospettiva e la percezione, creando così un percorso personale ed emotivamente stimolante.
L’artista riesce a rendere ogni protagonista, pesce o creatura del mare, vivente nella sua opera, come se si potesse osservare nel pieno della vitalità scatenata dalle onde in movimento. È un invito ad immergersi nella bellezza ma anche nella delicatezza dell’ecosistema marino.
Si arriva così ad un significato più profondo, ad un impegno più elevato insito nell’arte che l’Accademia del mare di Monaco riconosce e sposa a pieno: l’importanza della salvaguardia degli oceani e della loro biodiversità. Riconosciuta a livello internazionale come istituzione leader nel settore, l’Accademia, ha scelto di promuovere una mostra che tramite la bellezza dell’arte sviluppa conoscenza e sensibilizza sulla cultura marittima.
E l’esclusiva location che ospita l’esposizione è la prima ambassador di questo senso di responsabilità: il Méridien Beach Plaza, l’unico hotel di Monaco ad avere una spiaggia privata proprio nella vicina area marina protetta Larvotto. Il Méridien Beach Plaza sposa a pieno la causa, ha attiva una partnership con l’Associazione per la protezione della Natura di Monaco e un programma culturale dedicato, mostrando come l’accesso alla cultura e alla conoscenza siano parte integrante dell’ospitalità unica ed esclusiva che garantisce ai suoi ospiti.
La mostra inaugurata con un Vernissage il 15 giugno sarà in allestimento fino al 15 luglio.
