Boredom simply isn’t an option in Monte-Carlo. In fact, the real challenge is finding enough time to enjoy everything the Principality has to offer residents and visitors, especially during the summer months. Once again, this year’s calendar is packed with unmissable events.
Music takes centre stage with the eagerly awaited Monte-Carlo Summer Festival, which will keep audiences singing, dancing and entertained until mid-August. Concerts will be held at two of the Principality’s most prestigious venues, the Salle des Étoiles and the Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo, welcoming internationally acclaimed artists including Aya Nakamura, Juanes and John Legend. Bringing this year’s festival to a close will be celebrated Italian singer Laura Pausini, who recently also took on the role of co-host at Italy’s renowned Sanremo Music Festival.
Car enthusiasts also have plenty to look forward to this summer. Following much anticipation, the Grimaldi Forum has opened the exhibition “Monaco and the Automobile: From 1893 to the Present Day.” Running until 6 September, the exhibition traces 133 years of automotive history in the Principality. It is a must-see for motoring enthusiasts and curious visitors alike, offering the chance to admire historic vehicles, cars once owned by the Princely Family, and iconic models that have played a part in Monaco’s rich history.
Another highlight of the summer season is the prestigious Monégasque Red Cross Gala, one of the Principality’s most iconic annual events. Since 1948, the gala has brought together leading figures from the worlds of entertainment, culture and public life for an elegant charity evening held at the Sporting Monte-Carlo, in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene.
This year’s edition will also feature an exciting new addition: “Soul! Where Legends Come Back,” an original production by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer created in collaboration with artist Johan Creten. Beyond its glamour and spectacular entertainment, the gala remains one of the Red Cross’s most important fundraising events, supporting the association’s humanitarian activities throughout the year.
For those with a romantic spirit, the exhibition dedicated to the wedding of Prince Rainier III and Grace Kelly is not to be missed. Seventy years after the royal wedding captivated the world, visitors can relive one of the twentieth century’s most iconic love stories through photographs, documents and precious archival materials, many of which are being displayed for the very first time. Hosted in the State Apartments of the Prince’s Palace, the exhibition offers the perfect way to round off a Monaco summer with a touch of elegance and timeless romance.

A Monte-Carlo è impossibile annoiarsi, anzi il rischio è proprio l’opposto: non avere abbastanza tempo per godersi tutti gli eventi che la città mette a disposizione dei residenti e visitatori, soprattutto durante la stagione estiva. E anche quest’anno il calendario dei mesi più caldi è ricco di eventi imperdibili.
Si parte dalla musica, con l’atteso Monte-Carlo Summer Festival che fino a metà agosto farà cantare, ballare e divertire il pubblico. Le serate si svolgeranno in due location d’eccezione, la Sala des Ètoiles e l’Opéra Garnier, che ospiteranno artisti internazionali come Aya Nakamura, Juanes e John Legend. A chiudere il Festival sarà la grande artista italiana Laura Pausini, che di recente ha vestito anche i panni di co-conduttrice del celebre Festival della musica italiana di Sanremo.
Anche “Le 4 ruote” sono da segnare fra gli appuntamenti estivi in agenda: dopo tanta attesa, ha infatti preso il via al Grimaldi Forum la mostra “Monaco e l’automobile, dal 1893 a oggi”.
Visitabile fino al 6 settembre, l’esposizione ripercorre 133 anni di storia dell’automobile nel principato. Una tappa imperdibile per gli appassionati e per i più curiosi che possono ammirare alcune fra le automobili appartenute alla famiglia principesca e vetture che hanno segnato la storia del principato.
Immancabile anche il Gala della Croce Rossa Monegasca, appuntamento simbolo dell’estate del Principato. Dal 1948 riunisce personalità del mondo dello spettacolo, della cultura e delle istituzioni in una serata di beneficenza che si svolge allo Sporting Monte-Carlo alla presenza del Principe Alberto II e della Principessa Charlène.
Quest’anno ci sarà anche una novità d’eccezione grazie all’artista Johan Creten e il suo spettacolo inedito prodotto da Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer: “Soul! Where Legends Come Back”. La serata oltre a regalare tante emozioni è sempre un momento fondamentale per la raccolta dei fondi che sostengono tutte le attività umanitarie dell’associazione.
E per i più sentimentali da non perdere la mostra dedicata al matrimonio del Principe Ranieri III di Monaco e Grace Kelly che, a 70 anni dal grande giorno, fa rivivere a tutti i visitatori l’emozione di una delle storie d’amore più iconiche del Novecento. Con preziosi materiali di archivio mai esposti prima, questa mostra negli appartamenti di Stato del Palazzo dei Principi è fra gli eventi perfetti per coronare l’estate con un tocco di eleganza e sano romanticismo.
